The name Renaissance was chosen simply because of its definition: rebirth, renovation, refurbishment, and renewal.

The purpose of the Renaissance program is to recognize and reward with tangible incentives ALL students who are achieving excellence in academic, attendance, and behavior and who meets the criteria of the program at Lexington High School.

By excelling in these three areas (academic, attendance, and behavior), students can participate in the Renaissance Program by receiving a Renaissance Performance Card at the end of each six weeks. The Performance cards will provide students with privileges and rewards. We want the Spirit of Renaissance to reemphasize the tradition of excellence in every activity at Lexington High School.The main goal of the Renaissance program is to recognize students who are achieving academic excellence.

Renaissance describes an attempt to motivate ALL students to strive for academic excellence.
