Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
The Henderson County Board of Education and the schools administered by the board comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which provides that "no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." Complaints regarding discrimination should be filed with the Superintendent of schools at 35 Wilson St., Lexington, TN 38351.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
