Renaissance is not a club.....it is a program that is sponsored by Jostens for schools in all states. The LHS Renaissance Program was initiated by the FRIENDS OF LHS. Lexington High School has joined many other schools throughout the nation in making a real commitment to student academic excellence and self-improvement through Renaissance. Renaissance equals “The joining together of Business and Education to recognize, to praise, to reinforce, and to reward the pursuit of academic excellence by students who attend Lexington High.” Renaissance relies on the financial support of local merchants, businesses, and organizations.
The purpose of the Renaissance program is to recognize and reward with tangible incentives ALL students who are achieving excellence in academic, attendance, and behavior and who meets the criteria of the program at Lexington High School. By excelling in these three areas, students can participate in the Renaissance Program by receiving a Renaissance Performance Card at the end of each six weeks. The Performance cards will provide students with privileges and rewards. We want the Spirit of Renaissance to reemphasize the tradition of excellence in every activity at Lexington High School.
Our LHS Renaissance program consists of four parts:
- Leadership Class
- Renaissance Team
- Renaissance Program Members
- School Staff and Community Partners
All of these four parts are vital to the success Renaissance program.
