**1 Marketing credit can substitute for 1/2 Economics credit**

**2 Credits in ROTC may substitute for Wellness**

  • One requirement for receiving the high school diploma is to pass the state-madated Gateway Exam in each of the following courses:  Algebra 1, English 2, and Biology. The exams are given in May.
  • The State Department of Education issues three types of diplomas:
    1. Regular Diploma
    2. Diploma of Specialized Education
    3. Certificate of Attendance
  • To recieve the regular diploma, a student must meet all state and local requirements for graduation plus passage of required state tests.
  • To recieve a diploma of specialized instruction the special education student must complete the specifications set forth in his or her I.E.P. as determined by the "M" team and meet all other state and local requirements for the special education.
  • The student who meets all state and local requirements for graduation, but fails to pass the required state tests, will be issued a cetificate of attendance.
