Text Books
Textbooks are stored in the media center when not in use. We are currently in a six year plan to barcode all textbooks to ease the distributuion process to students.
Reference Books
Lexington High School has a collection of over 12,000 reference books and is working toward meeting A.L.A. requirements of 14,000. The Reference Section includes
- 9 Encyclopedia Sets
- The American National Biography
- African American National Biography
- Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians and many others
Periodicals
We subscribe to 2 newspapers and 24 magazines and periodicals. We also use the Tennessee Electronic Library for our periodical reference.
Computers
We operate 12 in-house stations alone with 57 laptop computers. We use the A+ and the E4TN programs for learning enhancement and web based Accelerated Reader with 112,000 test and growing.
Tennessee Electronic Library
A wide array of electronic databases can be accessed through the Tennessee Electronic Library. These databases are made available through the media center.
To use the Tennessee Electronic Library on your LHS computer, type in http://infotrac.galegroup.com After the site is brought up enter the School I.D. of tel_k_lexhs and the password is elvis.
